This is a permanent job for an extremely strong Unix / Linux engineer with an affinity for working directly with customers connecting hardware to disparate systems. You’ll be the highest level technical support contact in this booming company, supporting their flagship products. They work with AIX, HPUX, BSD, and Solaris. The product you would support connects to 23 operating systems and multiple databases. You must have the skills to handle cross-platform problems. The client finds that most of their customers just don’t have a Unix expert on staff so you have to be it. The product is developed on the Linux platform so those skills are imperative.
The client increased their sales 6 times in 2003 over their 2002 results. SIX TIMES. They plan to triple again in 2004. A large infusion of investment cash is positioning the firm to be a dominant nationwide player in a niche they created so their competition is low.
The main characteristic we need is someone with the guts to be the lead tech in a highly energetic and service-oriented company. This firm will live or die by whether or not their customers are satisfied. When was the last time you had an unsatisfied customer? If you can remember one this is not the job for you.
