PERL:
I once heard perl refered to as the SUV of programming languages. It's not the prettest, nor the fastest, but if you know how and when to lock in the 4wheel drive, it will take you anywhere.
Javascript:
Is, imo, the 'JBWeld' of scripters. OPften just the glue you need to patch lowlevel user interaction into a 'real' prez lang. It can also be a huge pain in the socket. :)
Java:
I am a backend java guy by day and love the language, i'm learning more about the nuaunces of the language now and am in absoulte awe of the the true bredth of java.
PHP:
KICKS MAJOR @. nuff said. luv it.
VB/VBA:
to me is like a Jackson Polik programming languge. A former coworker of mine is a huge redmond-ho and I often pick on him for this (but of course), one day in a fun discussion I called VB "the short bus, it's for 'special' programmers" (no offence intended I just thought it was a funny moment :)
Assembler:
On the first day the Lord said "Let their be procederial baised itterators" and there were, and it was good.
COBAL(KABBAL):
On the second day the Lord, very pleased with his creation, decided to create an interperter for his creation so that all may hear the word. and it was so, and it was good.
C:
At 4:45am, technicaly the third day, a very caffeenated Lord reached down and held up that which was his. In his mirth the Lord noticed a very special portion of his opus, wantign to share this with the rest of his creation he 'pointed' vigorously at it and said "LOOK, LOOK!" and it was good.
Thus it was that the Lord awakend from his slumber to find that in his vacant toil he had created the heavans and earth. To which he said 'Hello World'
