not to be callous or anything ... but why are they hiring a replacement if they are laying you off?

layed off due to the greenville office closing, my job function will exsist untill the company intranet goes away. They just happen to be closing the office I work at. All of the other coprate hq's are getting bonus's, thus the level of the suck "Well kids we're close your office so you're screwed, sorry about that. Every body else, you get a bonus." I was training the guy who will train the development team that they build to replace us, in Denver CO. I have no interest in going to denver right now, so I get stuck training my replacement. Thats the real suck of it, It's not even a "Sorry to let you go but we have no choice." it's more of a "we just dont want to keep an office open in Greenville since north america functions are moving to Denver, best of luck". But thanks for the vote of confidence anyway.
