Habla Espanol?
Dec. 10th, 2005 08:09 amOkay, so you've heard about the kid in Kansas who was suspened for speaking spanish in school, good then we're on the same page. I have a personal oppinion, shocking I know, but that is not why we are here today. The article I read on MSNBC had a web poll, to gather public oppinions on the issue. good idea, right? well read the options...
(A) Yes. Students should speak English at school because it is America's dominant language.
(B) No. American schools should show appreciation for multilingual citizens.
(C) I'm not sure.
----------------------------------------------------
This is such a blantant example of poll fixing that I am appaled. Look at the language, 'dominant', 'appreciation'. It makes me sick to see a 'news' agency tilt any kind of public oppinion data. If you select A, or dont select B you're a 'freedom fry' dip brained unclutured American. Why even post the poll? Do people actually fall for this pseduo-information? Blah...
