Dark, dark stuff from Downfall Funeral. Deliverance is six minutes of brooding, moody and foreboding gothic music. Blending Middle Eastern chants and incantations that merge seamlessly into soul wrenching English cries, it's as far removed from pop as anything in this month's reviews. If you didn't read their profile, you'd never guess the band are from Texas. From the sounds of things, goth may have a new home.
"Show me the way to place that will cleanse the soul" implores vocalist Chris Martinez. They don't need to be shown the way. When producing music like this, they're already there.
Does anybody know these guys? good, bad, terrible, awesome?
